An Interface Test Adaptor (ITA) is used to connect the Unit Under Test (UUT) to an S500 test system with minimal operator interaction. Custom built cables use the UUTs existing connectors and route the test signal through the ITA to the test hardware in the S500 system.
ITAs allow the test resources of the S500 to be applied to the UUT so that test application programs can run functional tests. ITAs also help to significantly reduce the amount of manual probing operators must perform.
An ITA is the piece of hardware that the operator interacts with most often and therefore it must be robust to withstand test and repair environments, easy to handle and also make connection to UUTs easy.
Diagnosys designs and builds the ITAs and cable assemblies in-house providing a cost effective and robust solution for physical access to most UUTs. ITA designs include all cable sets and connectors required to test the UUT as well as any cradles needed for access and probing of the UUT.
A UUT cradle provides mechanical support to hold a UUT in the optimum position for test access.
Cable sets are designed for multiple insertions. ITA connectors to the UUT are designed as replaceable items should they become damaged or worn over time and sacrificial connectors and custom PCBs are used wherever feasible.
